Civilization as we know it...

So, lastnight I couldn't sleep, and wanted to do some more "research" about where we are moving, I was sad when I found out these statistics. Some of my favorite places, and how far away they now will be...(in no particular order)
1. Costco: 135 miles away
2. Target: 106 miles away
3. Ross: 56 miles away
4. Staples: 62 miles away
5. JoAnn's: 106 miles away (do you hear my heart breaking?)
6. Michael's: 67 miles away
7. Olive Garden: 66 miles away
8. Chevy's: None in KY or TN (we will be about a little over an hour from Knoxville, TN)
9. Bass Pro: 121 miles away
10. REI: 121 miles away
And here is the funny one:
Starbucks? In the middle of nowhere? Yep: in the next town over, about 15-20 minutes.
One week.....

Well, at least there's a nearby Starbucks... You have to look on the bright side, right? Very sad about the other favorite places... :(

I know, right?! The hubs and I were talking about how we would probably be the only people in our small town who would be "crazy" enough to drive "all the way over" to the next town just for a caramel macchiato.

To lose the others will be sad, but you've got to be happy with the Starbucks situation - a little caffeine makes everything look ok (in my opinion!) thanks for stopping by my place; love your blog.

To be positive...I honestly think they have some really good stores that give these bigger names a run for their money and that's the only reason none of them are close by. I believe God takes us to different places for a reason...trust Him on this. I'm sure this new move WILL be your Canaan...your land flowing with milk and honey! I'm sure once you get there youll find it actually is a great place :>

P.S. I'm coming over from SITS....bunny hop over to find out how you can get 50 free photos and enter 4 great giveaways:http://energizerbunnysmommyreports.blogspot.com/(Dr Hippo books, CoverBee Laptop sleeve, Chex Mix bars, Piggy Paint- 10 winners in all!!):CoverBee and Dr Hippo books end on Sunday :>

Wow, where the heck are you moving? Stopping by from SITS and just wanted to say good luck with the move. My husband and I moved just over a month ago and it's a pain!

Happy Friday!

We live 20 miles from the nearest... well, anything and we still don't drive much. You get used to it. Believe me when my hubster put our budget-from-hell in place, I HATED not going and shopping and doing and visting and eating out and...

HOWEVER, I have adjusted. We hit Walmart once a month now and try to utilize local stores and sellers before we head even in to Buehlers in Orrville.

It will get better... just think of this as a grand adventure...

I was the same way when Josh and I moved to Virginia. We were at least 30min. from the nearest Wal Mart and all other "chain Stores". We had a McDonald's,Arby's, and a Food Lion....everything else was a small town store, which in the end I ended up enjoying. We waited till the weekends and planned out where we wanted to go and took off to enjoy all the stores we missed.

what I am saying is, after the shock wears off......it is kinda nice to live in a small town....at least I ended up thinking so :)

I can't wait to hear all about your journey!

Wal-Mart? Oh 5 minutes...and it's funny because when you search online to find houses that are for sale (the ones that are posted online anyway...that part of the country seems to have an aversion to the internet)they always include the distance it is from Wal-mart as one of the amenitites (?) "Cozy two bedroom, two bath, large yard, spacious one car garage, 7 miles from Wal-mart."

Ha ha....thank you so much for all your comments!!!

After reading your profile, it sounds like having these far away will be good....right? No? Well, least you've got a computer and order online! :) I hope your move goes fantastically well. The excitement to get to place all your things in new places and rearranging in a new location can be really refreshing. Good luck and happy Friday - I'm popping over from SITS roll call.

Stopping by from SITS. Wow, I'd be bummed out if all my fave stores & things were so far away.

Wow! I know what it feel like to move to a completely different part of the country, but I moved to a city, not the boonies. I don't know how I'd handle it...I'm such a city girl at heart!
